Features
Everything you need to run email marketing, on sending you own.
Every feature below is included on every plan, including Free.
Your own sending
Amazon SES or any SMTP, connected to your account only.
Silo never sends your mail through a shared pool. You connect your own provider and pay them directly; Amazon SES lists about $0.10 per 1,000 emails.
- Encrypted and tested. Credentials are encrypted at rest and checked with a real call to your provider before they're saved.
- One-click SES bounce setup. Silo creates the SNS topic, subscription and configuration set event destination in your own AWS account, using the keys you saved. Safe to run again to repair it.
- Per-account suppression. Bounces, complaints and unsubscribes suppress an address for your account, and only yours.
- No fallback. If your credentials stop working, sending stops and you're told why. It never quietly routes through someone else.
Editor & templates
A drag-and-drop editor that produces email-safe HTML.
Build emails from blocks: headings, text, images, buttons, columns, dividers, spacers, social links and a footer. Start from one of eight starter templates, or save your own designs as templates and reuse them across broadcasts and sequences. Merge fields drop in names and other subscriber data.
Lists, tags & segments
Organize people the way you already think about them.
Keep separate lists for separate audiences, tag subscribers by interest or behavior, and send to segments: the people on a list who carry any, or all, of a set of tags. Tags can be added by signup forms, automations, store purchases and the API.
Broadcasts
One-off sends with A/B subject line tests.
Send a newsletter or announcement to a list, a tag or a segment. Test two subject lines on a slice of the audience, and Silo sends the one with more opens to everyone else. A pre-send content check flags common problems before anything goes out.
Drip sequences
Timed sequences that react to what people do.
Onboarding, courses, follow-ups: set the delay between each email, personalize with merge fields, and add steps that only send if the subscriber opened or clicked the previous email (or didn't).
Visual automations
Build workflows on a canvas, no code required.
Start an automation when someone joins a list, gets a tag added or removed, when your app sends an API event, or on a yearly date such as a birthday or renewal. Then chain steps:
- Send an email or wait a set time
- Branch on opens, clicks, tags or list membership
- Add or remove tags, move between lists
- Call a webhook in your own systems
Signup & consent
Forms and signup pages on your own domain.
Embed a signup form on your site, or publish a hosted signup page with your copy, tags and a follow-up sequence. Both live on your link domain (for example links.yourcompany.com), not a domain shared with other accounts.
- Double opt-in with your own confirmation email. The confirm link asks for a click, so mail scanners can't confirm on someone's behalf.
- Preference center where subscribers choose topics or unsubscribe.
- CAN-SPAM footer with your postal address and a working unsubscribe link on every marketing email. Silo won't send without them.
Analytics
Opens and clicks where you need them.
See sends, opens and clicks by day, by broadcast and by sequence step. Tracking runs on your own link domain. Open tracking is an estimate everywhere (some mail apps preload images, others block them), so Silo shows clicks alongside it.
API & integrations
Connect Silo to the rest of your stack.
- REST API to add or update subscribers, tag them, start sequences and send automation events. Authenticated with a per-account API key.
- Signed webhooks for subscribes, unsubscribes, tags, bounces, complaints, opens and clicks, signed with HMAC-SHA256 and retried with backoff.
- Zapier-ready. The API and webhooks follow Zapier's REST-hook pattern, so you can connect them today with Zapier's webhook steps.
- Shopify and WooCommerce order and customer sync. Buyers are subscribed only when they gave marketing consent at checkout; everyone else is kept as a non-mailable contact.
- Import from Mailchimp or Kit by CSV or API key, keeping tags, unsubscribes and cleaned addresses so nobody who left gets mailed again.
Team & security
Invite your team with the right level of access.
Add team members as owner, admin, editor or viewer. An audit log records who did what: invites and role changes, sending credential changes, broadcasts, domain changes and deletions. Sign in with email and password, or with Google or Facebook.
Deliverability tools
Check your setup before mailbox providers do.
- Domain check for SPF, DKIM and DMARC on your sending domain, and the CNAME on your link domain, with the exact records to add. For SES, DKIM status comes straight from your AWS account.
- Pre-send content check for a missing unsubscribe link or postal address, shouty subjects, spammy phrases, image-only mail, link shorteners, missing plain text and messages large enough for Gmail to clip. It is a heuristic, not an inbox-placement test.
- List cleaning finds invalid addresses, role accounts (info@, sales@), disposable domains, domains with no mail server (no MX) and long-inactive subscribers, so you can remove them before they bounce or complain.
